1) What is Heartfelt?
The Heartfelt Foundation, founded in 1979, is a volunteer-driven 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to serving and assisting individuals, families and communities in need. This is accomplished by providing support services, food, supplies, volunteer time, often financial aid, and always caring. Heartfelt organizes volunteers to work on a variety of ongoing service projects and programs. Human beings and the heart are uppermost in the Foundation's extensive work, and volunteers are the key to our success. We offer and provide our volunteers with the rewarding opportunity of providing direct, hand-on assistance to those in great need.

2) How can I volunteer?
The Foundation has numerous, creative opportunities for individuals, groups, families, children, businesses and corporations to make an enduring difference in this world through service. At The Heartfelt Foundation, we believe that every choice to respond when help is needed, every act of kindness extended to another, every moment of service, is to be celebrated.

Heartfelt regularly organizes and holds service projects throughout the country to address the needs of many with heartfelt service and caring. Ongoing projects include:
Providing food for hungry and homeless people
Assisting at-risk children and families
Visiting the elderly and homebound
Planting gardens at hospices
Giving parties and cheerful support to orphaned or under-served children

We invite your participation with us on a future service project, in one of our ongoing service programs, or in any other way.

3) How can I donate to the work?
We accept donations of money, food, blankets, new clothing, toys, gifts, school supplies, books and toiletries. Funding is received from individuals, volunteers, the business and corporate community and private grants.

4) What's the administrative structure of the Heartfelt Foundation?
The Foundation has a paid Executive Director and a strong volunteer support staff.

5) Where does the money go?
It is the intention and policy of the Heartfelt Foundation to keep our overhead expenses minimal by having a primarily volunteer-driven work force. This enables us to extend more than 90% of our primary resources into the community of the disadvantaged that we serve, and maintain a ceiling of less than 10% of our income expended on overhead.

Our heart-to-heart service in the human community is demonstrated in a variety of ways ranging from feeding those who are hungry, assisting at-risk and in-need families, supporting disadvantaged or abused children, helping those with no homes, to providing comfort to the sick and terminal.

Well over 100,000 people have been reached with heartfelt caring through the years, and more than 20,000 volunteers have been given the opportunity to provide hands-on assistance to those less fortunate. Heartfelt has expanded from a small local group in Southern California, to an on-call network of dedicated volunteers around the world.
